BookTV, "In Defense of Globalization" by Jagdish Bhagwati

Jagdish Bhagwait said the following was a causal chain of events.  Most of his talk was lame, but this was quite offensive, and I hope he suffers from a serious venereal disease.

A bill, sponsored by Tom Harkin, was in the Senate.  If it had passed, no products of child labor would have been allowed to be imported into this country.  Bhagwait asserts that women in Bangladesh, women who "carried" their children to work, heard about this bill, and stopped taking their children to work and they went and became prostitutes.  Can you imagine, firstly, women who had children that they could carry going out and becoming prostitutes?  Or that Bangladeshi women are on top of the proceedings of the US Senate?

Bhagwait is a shameless corporate whore.
