Charles Murray, In Depth

Author of racist Bell Curve uses an anecdote to answer a question.  He claims he was in a barbershop and heard a stoneworker saying he was getting into doing marblework, earning $30/hour.  Murray assumes he gets to work 2000 hours a year, and states it is a good income.  Murray also states that he is "making something" and that this should be satisfying.  What Murray doesn't state is that marble-workers make things for _rich_ people, exclusively.
Explains that the price of ditch-digger has gone way down, but that gardeners are doing very well.  Again, only rich people have gardeners.
